Defence Intelligence of Ukraine has reported that its special operation in the city of Pokrovsk in Donetsk Oblast is ongoing, with additional forces from special units countering attempts by the Russians to expand their fire advantage over logistics routes in the area of responsibility.

Quote : "The Tymur special unit of Defence Intelligence of Ukraine is continuing its operation in one of the districts in Pokrovsk in Donetsk Oblast that is strategically important for frontline logistics. Fierce fighting against the Russian occupiers is ongoing."

Details : After a successful airborne operation, additional forces from the special unit joined the DIU operatives who had secured designated positions by breaking through a ground corridor.

"Combat operations are ongoing, aimed at preventing the enemy from expanding its fire advantage over logistics routes within DIU's area of responsibility," the statement reads.

Other special units from Defence Intelligence of Ukraine are also conducting combat missions in the sector. For the safety of the personnel involved, details of the operations are not being disclosed at this stage.

"Coordinated work together with all components of Ukraine's security and defence forces is ongoing," DIU added.

• Reuters has reported, citing sources, that special DIU forces were deployed to Pokrovsk at the beginning of the previous week amid intensified fighting, with the aim of stabilising the situation.
• Oleksandr Syrskyi, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, said on 1 November that there is no encirclement or blockade of Pokrovsk or Myrnohrad. He also said that a complex operation is ongoing to wipe out and push back Russian forces in Pokrovsk involving, among others, Special Operations Forces, the Security Service of Ukraine and Defence Intelligence of Ukraine.
• On the same day, the 7th Rapid Response Corps of Ukraine's Air Assault Forces said that Ukrainian troops had improved their tactical position in several districts of Pokrovsk in Donetsk Oblast.
