"No need" for Trump-Putin meeting yet , says Kremlin

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov has said there is currently no need for a meeting between Russian ruler Vladimir Putin and US President Donald Trump to discuss the settlement of the Russo-Ukrainian war.

Quote from Peskov: "Hypothetically speaking, such a meeting is possible, but at this point there is no need for it. What is needed now is very meticulous work on the details of the settlement issue."

- In October, Trump cancelled a planned meeting with Putin in Budapest, saying he was disappointed with the pace of negotiations with Russia.
- Putin himself, commenting on Trump's announcement that the bilateral meeting had been cancelled, said it had likely been "postponed".
