Military analyst Vasyl Pekhno shared his opinions with Espreso TV."The situation is currently too precarious to make any forecasts. But it is almost unrealistic for the Russians to be able to achieve their goals of reaching the borders of the Donetsk region in the near future. The Russians are now trying to enter Pokrovsk, but besides Pokrovsk, there are Myrnohrad, Kostiantynivka, Lyman, and Siversk, and these are only the important frontline defense points. Behind them, in the second line, are Sloviansk, Kramatorsk, Druzhkivka, and Dobropillia. By the way, an attempt by the Russians to make a desperate and rather adventurous breakthrough towards Dobropillia ended in an absolute fiasco for them," Pekhno emphasized.According to the military analyst, talk of capturing all the territories of Donbas by the end of spring is overly optimistic on Russia's part, as nothing currently favors this outcome."In other words, making forecasts is dangerous, but we must not forget that Donbas is not limited to the battles for Pokrovsk. There are many other settlements and fortified areas that, as practice shows, are very difficult for the Russians to take," Pekhno added.Read also: Putin 'giving shirt off his back' to forge strategic road for new eastern offensive — major general
