Russia strikes three energy facilities in Chernihiv region, triggering power outages

Advisor to the head of the Chernihiv Regional State Administration Andrii Podorvan spoke about this on Espreso TV.“The enemy’s target in the Chernihiv region over the past day has once again been our energy infrastructure. The enemy also attacked the center of Novhorod-Siverskyi, including a hospital, residential buildings, and a school. Overnight, they struck three more energy facilities in border communities. Emergency power outages are currently in effect,” Podorvan said.The advisor to the head of the regional administration urged citizens to use electricity sparingly, as the difficult situation in Chernihiv is now compounded by other regions across Ukraine following a massive Russian attack.“Our energy workers are working around the clock to restore power. Currently, the region is under rolling and emergency outages. We understand the networks are overloaded, as our difficult situation is compounded by similar challenges in other regions. Therefore, we urge people to use electricity sparingly,” he concluded.On the night of Tuesday, October 21, the Russian occupation forces launched attack drones and guided bombs at Ukraine. Nine people were injured in Kharkiv, and power outages occurred in the Chernihiv region.On Tuesday, October 21, Russian forces launched around 20 drone strikes on Novhorod-Siverskyi in the Chernihiv region, killing four people.Power outages were reported in Ukraine’s Odesa region following overnight Russian drone strikes, while scheduled power cuts were introduced in the Chernihiv region.
