A decision has been made to provide the Ukrainian military with additional helicopters and to expand Air Force capabilities in general, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has announced following a meeting of the Staff of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief.

Details : Zelenskyy said the main part of the meeting focused on energy. The participants discussed creating equipment reserves and support from European partners who can provide the resources needed to strengthen the energy system. He stressed that Ukraine's Foreign Ministry should work more actively in this area.

The gas sector was discussed separately, specifically fuel storage for the heating season and repair work. Zelenskyy thanked Ukrainian gas engineers and companies for their work and said the government has identified sources of funding for gas purchases.

Quote : "There was also a separate report on the military component – specifically the protection of energy facilities from aerial attacks. We've made decisions on additional helicopters and on reinforcing our combat aviation overall."

Details : Zelenskyy added that he has instructed his team to prepare all the necessary documents for concluding agreements with the United States on the purchase of air defence systems. He stressed that it is important to work through every aspect of the future agreements in order to speed up the negotiation process.
