Reinhard Wolski, retired Bundeswehr general and head of the Berlin Security Conference, stated this in an interview with Espreso TV."I think, perhaps, the U.S. will indeed focus a bit more on the Indo-Pacific region. They have stated as much, and, in essence, said that Europe and Europeans must take care of their own continent. Of course, NATO obligations currently exist, but I believe there has been a radical change in the U.S. President's position in the desire to help resolve the war against Ukraine. In my opinion, he will stick to this position," the general commented. In his opinion, it will then be up to how Europe organizes itself and what it will do to support Ukraine and its sovereign status within its borders. Then the Americans might, perhaps, shift their focus a little."As you can see, no withdrawals of American forces from Europe are happening; they are all here, perhaps even being transferred much further to the east than before. So President Trump's commitment to European security is currently stable and remains unchanged. At the same time, this could change when the conflict is resolved," Wolski noted.Earlier, Reuters reported that the U.S. is considering limiting military aid to Latvia, Lithuania, and Estonia, which is already causing alarm among European diplomats and security experts.
