Ukrainian MP Mykola Knyazhytskyi shared his opinions with Espreso TV.“I don’t think Donald Trump will try to persuade Volodymyr Zelenskyy to do anything at this point. And even if he does, it won’t align with what Putin wants. I expect they will have a pleasant dinner, and that will likely be the end of it. Perhaps Trump will speak with Zelenskyy and share details of his conversation with Putin, which is important for us to know. The very fact of this meeting is significant, as U.S. support remains one of the key factors for Ukraine today. I do not foresee any conflicts arising this time, though anything can happen. Even if it occurs, it won’t lead to any success. It will be a discussion and exchange of views. As I mentioned earlier, Putin is not interested in talking to Zelenskyy — he wants to speak with Trump about his influence on Europe. That is his main focus right now,” Knyazhytskyi explained. The MP believes that due to the lack of strategic results on the battlefield, Russia is resorting to terrorist attacks on Ukraine's civilian energy infrastructure."Russia is attacking Ukraine's energy system because we have a good army. They have no serious strategic successes on the battlefield, so the only thing left for them to do is to strike at the energy sector. They have missiles, so they are doing it. They are attacking Ukraine's energy sector not because of their strength, but because of their weakness. After all, it is impossible to destroy the enemy militarily with missiles and aircraft; it is simply unrealistic. This has never happened in history and never will," he added. On October 17, during his visit to Washington, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with representatives of Raytheon, the manufacturer of the Patriot air defense system, and the heads of energy companies.
