Polish politician and president of the Polish-Ukrainian Chamber of Commerce, Jacek Piechota, expressed this opinion in an interview with Khrystyna Yatskiv on Espreso TV.“When we talk about the Polish economy, we try to learn from Ukraine’s dramatic experience. In particular, the situation in Ukraine’s energy sector has shown that the future lies in decentralization — so that energy centers are not isolated, but distributed. We also need to focus on renewable energy sources. We are applying lessons from Ukraine’s experience. As for the state of the economy as a whole, we still face many challenges. Agriculture remains a problematic sector, as it has not undergone a profound transformation,” he added.According to Piechota, the structure of agriculture creates significant issues. “We have seen this clearly in our bilateral relations. In areas where transformation processes were not completed — perhaps due to upcoming elections and political considerations — certain consequences are now visible. For instance, the mining industry continues to face very large losses. This is not merely an issue of environmental focus; it reflects inefficiencies in the sector for various reasons. I was once responsible for reforming the mining industry. We managed to reduce losses, but the process needed to continue. Accordingly, the problem has not disappeared and remains relevant for the Polish economy,” Piechota explained.
