Teona Kakhiani, founder of the Ukrainian youth organization in Georgia Svitanok, said this on Espreso TV."The protest in Georgia has been going on for 315 days — this is the voice of the Georgian people, who are loudly declaring their desire to become part of the European Union, part of the European family. In contrast, Georgian Dream is an authoritarian regime that is pulling the country into Russia's orbit. In fact, today we can say that the current pseudo-government of Georgia has turned the country into a satellite of the Russian Federation," Kakhiani emphasized.According to the founder of the Ukrainian youth organization in Georgia Svitanok, during the pseudo-elections, the Georgian authorities used rhetoric suggesting that the European Union is supposedly not attractive and has nothing to offer Georgia."There were also statements that, allegedly, Georgia seeks good relations with the EU, but it is the European Union that is hostile towards it. The main logic of such rhetoric is to shift the responsibility to the EU and show society that it is supposedly the European Union that does not want closer ties," Kakhiani added. On October 4, 2025, at the end of the voting day for local elections, supporters of the Georgian opposition stormed the Orbeliani Palace, where the presidential residence is located.
