The Ukraine-EU Association Committee in Trade Configuration has approved a decision to lift some tariffs and expand export quotas for Ukrainian agricultural products to the European Union.

Details: The decision of the Association Committee in Trade Configuration follows the Council of the EU's approval of the new trade deal with Ukraine, which replaces the "visa-free trade regime" that expired in June 2025.

According to Kachka, the decision will take effect in 15 days, on 29 October.

"Ukrainian exporters will be able to benefit from the new trade regime this year. The decision is bilateral and open-ended," the deputy prime minister said.

He added that the next review, which may further increase Ukraine's access to the EU market, will take place in 2028.

Background:

• On 30 June, the European Commission concluded negotiations with Ukraine on the main principles of the review of the Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Area (DCFTA) between Ukraine and the EU.
• Earlier, Poland, Slovakia, Hungary, Bulgaria and Romania expressed concerns that the new trade deal with Ukraine could destabilise agricultural markets in the European Union.
