Professor Igor Aizenberg of Manhattan University (U.S.) said this on air with Espreso.“We’ll probably never know what they discuss behind closed doors — unless someone leaks information from inside sources. Or perhaps we’ll learn about it from Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s memoirs sooner than from Donald Trump’s — I doubt Trump will ever write memoirs,” Aizenberg said.According to the professor, it’s a good sign when the two leaders discuss important issues privately.“As for the public part — Donald Trump loves turning such meetings in the Oval Office into televised shows when hosting foreign leaders, and they can last a while. We already know that. I think this time he’ll want to show something to Putin, because he’s frustrated that Putin refuses to agree to any conditions — at least a ceasefire or a freeze of the war,” Aizenberg explained. He believes Trump still aims to achieve that outcome.“It seems to me that the public part of the meeting will be designed to impress Putin and push him toward ending the war. Whether it will work or not, I don’t know. But behind closed doors, I think they’ll primarily talk about weapons Ukraine needs,” the professor concluded. On Friday, October 17, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy will meet U.S. President Donald Trump in Washington.
