Zelenskyy appoints new first deputy secretary to Ukraine's National Security and Defence Council

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has appointed Major General Yevhenii Ostrianskyi, Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, as First Deputy Secretary of the National Security and Defence Council (NSDC), replacing former commander-in-chief Ruslan Khomchak, who had held this post since July 2021.

Details: The president has introduced personnel changes within the structure of Ukraine's National Security and Defence Council.
Colonel General Ruslan Khomchak has been dismissed from the post of the NSDC First Deputy Secretary.
Major General Yevhenii Ostrianskyi has been appointed to the position. Before the appointment, he served as Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Umierov has said that Ostrianskyi is an officer with more than 30 years of military experience and an expert in strategic planning and defence management.
