Clash reported the information.NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte sharply commented on the current state of Russia’s military, comparing it to scenes from the past."Russia’s military is stretched there and elsewhere… There’s a lone and broken Russian submarine limping home from patrol. What a change from The 1984 Tom Clancy novel Hunt for Red October. Today it seems more like the hunt for the nearest mechanic."The NATO Secretary General also addressed the regular incursions of Russian aircraft into the airspace of NATO countries. He said these actions pose no real threat and that the Alliance’s response is always measured."As long as they don’t pose a threat, we will gently guide them out of our airspace. It’s a proportional response — we are so much stronger than the Russians. If we were weak, maybe we’d shoot them down immediately, but being stronger, our reaction is proportionate."Rutte also emphasized that NATO’s overwhelming advantage is evident in every sphere, noting that "Take comfort in the fact that NATO is 25 times bigger than the Russian economy. Our military is infinitely superior to the Russian military. When it comes to our air force, the Russians cannot even stand in the shadow with these MiG-31s, or whatever they call them."On September 25, NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte said he agreed with U.S. President Donald Trump that Russian aircraft should be shot down if they violate the airspace of Alliance member states.
