UK intelligence reported the information. The intelligence agency noted that on September 24, the Russian State Duma passed a bill in its first reading that would allow for military service conscription throughout the entire year, and not just in the spring and autumn."This will likely provide a continuous flow of conscripts for the Russian army. Whilst this will allow the pre-draft processes to be distributed throughout the year, it is a realistic possibility that this change will also desensitize the population to the process," the intelligence agency noted.Autumn conscriptionOn September 29, Russian leader Vladimir Putin signed a decree to conscript 135,000 men for military service. The annual autumn conscription campaign in Russia began on October 1 and will last until December 31, covering all of Russia and the occupied territories of Ukraine. It applies to adult men between the ages of 18 and 30.As UK intelligence recalls, 160,000 people were conscripted into the army in the spring of 2025. Meanwhile, 133,000 people were conscripted in the autumn of 2024, and 150,000 in the spring of 2024.The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine had earlier expressed a protest, as Russia began conscription in the temporarily occupied territories on October 1.
