Aviation expert and analyst Kostiantyn Kryvolap shared the information on Espreso TV.“Ukrainian energy infrastructure will be at great risk this year — primarily from strikes by Russian Shaheds. For complete destruction, the Russians may also use Iskander‑M and Kinzhal missile strikes,” Kryvolap noted.According to the analyst, the Russians have modernized ballistic missile guidance algorithms. Previously, the flight trajectory was different: as a missile neared the target it would flip and plunge almost vertically, a moment when Patriot interceptors could shoot it down. Now the Russians have changed their approach: the missile begins to maneuver during the final phase of its ballistic trajectory, which greatly complicates interception and destruction by air-defense means.“We expect Raytheon, the developer of the relevant systems, to provide interception-algorithm updates, because the war is now being waged at the level of algorithms. This is not about radical technical changes but about optimizing interception algorithms, and that is quite difficult. Therefore, the effectiveness of intercepting Kinzhal or Iskander‑M missiles with Patriot systems has become significantly more complicated,” Kryvolap added.By the end of 2025, Ukraine will receive two Patriot systems from Germany with support from Norway.
