Ukrainian Armed Forces officer Ihor Lapin shared his opinions on Espreso TV.“The Russians must be defeated on the distant approaches, and our policy must be built around the fact that Europe's distant approaches are today's front line. And joint work on the construction of a 'drone wall' must be carried out on the territory of Ukraine. I understand that today Putin has won by more skillfully selling fear to our Western partners — something Russia has always traded and continues to trade in,” Lapin emphasized.According to the officer, Ukraine is losing the Kremlin’s information campaign in Western countries.“The fact is, the Kremlin spreads narratives claiming Ukraine has already fallen, that it won’t survive. Politicians like Orbán and Fico promote these narratives among Europeans, not only among politicians but also ordinary citizens. And citizens then pressure their governments: ‘How will you protect us if Ukraine has already fallen?’ In other words, we are losing this information campaign in Western countries. Looking at the colossal resources Russia spends on propaganda and trading fear, it becomes clear: Russia’s priorities are the same — to terrify the West, to make it prepare for war and withhold everything Ukrainians need,” Lapin concluded.Russian leader Vladimir Putin responded to U.S. President Donald Trump, who earlier called him a "paper tiger."
