Aviation analyst Kostyantyn Kryvolap told the channel that in June Russia was producing Shaheds at three factories in Yelabuga, the Izhevsk “Kupol” plant, and another facility in Tula — about 2,700 UAVs per month, or roughly 90 per day. Those volumes underpinned the large-scale Russian strikes that followed periods of stockpiling, he said.“The occupiers plan to increase production to 200 Shaheds per day by year’s end. They are actively modernizing and preparing launch sites because they have long chosen Shaheds as their main weapon for air attacks on Ukraine,” Kryvolap said.He added that Moscow aims to reach 4,000 UAVs monthly by the end of October. “One could be skeptical, but all factors indicate these production volumes are realistic and that Russia intends to reach them. That means producing over 200 Shaheds daily by year-end. Our intelligence and journalists report this; it appears credible because the Russians are constructing 11 additional launch locations around the border with Ukraine for Shahed launches. They plan to store Shaheds underground in covered shelters and conduct far more launches. If now they launch from 6–7 locations, they will add 11 more. Strikes on Ukraine will therefore become more powerful and larger in scale. The Russians long ago picked Shaheds as their primary aerial-attack weapon against Ukraine,” he concluded.Separately, on September 3 Anatoliy Khrapchynskyi, deputy general director of a firm producing electronic-warfare systems and an aviation expert, told Espreso that Russia is actively expanding Shahed launch sites to scale up attacks on Ukraine.
