75% of Ukrainians firmly reject Russia’s “peace plan”, survey shows

Espreso.TV reported the information, citing a KIIS sociological survey.Only 17% of respondents are willing to consider Russia’s version of the “peace plan.” The survey presented two excerpts with key conditions, one from the European-Ukrainian plan and the other from the Russian plan, without telling participants who proposed each plan.The results showed that 74% of Ukrainians, though not very enthusiastic, are ready to support the joint European-Ukrainian plan, while only 15% are categorically against it. Regionally, 61% to 80% of respondents in various regions rejected the Russian “peace plan,” while 72–77% in all regions expressed willingness to approve the European-Ukrainian initiative.If the Russian scenario were implemented, 65% of citizens would see it as a defeat for Ukraine. Only 7% would consider it a full or partial success, and 19% would view it as a compromise “50-50” option. Overall, 75% do not support Russia’s “peace plan.”In contrast, regarding the European-Ukrainian plan, 30% of Ukrainians see it as a full or partial success, 44% consider it a “50-50” compromise, and only 18% call it a defeat.Russia’s “peace plan”On August 9, 2025, Ukraine, together with European partners, submitted its own peace proposal to the United States, which envisions a ceasefire and mutual territorial concessions only with security guarantees.Russia’s “peace plan” includes lifting sanctions against Russia, granting official status to the Russian language, reducing Ukraine’s armed forces and weaponry, renouncing NATO membership, stopping Western arms supplies, giving Russia control over security guarantees, withdrawing Ukrainian troops from part of Donetsk region, recognizing Crimea, Donetsk, and Luhansk regions as part of Russia, and maintaining Russian control over occupied parts of Kherson and Zaporizhzhia regions.
