Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk made a statement on X.“Recently, the State Protection Service (SOP) neutralized a drone operating over government buildings (Parkowa Street) and the Belweder Palace. Two Belarusian citizens were detained. The police are investigating the circumstances of the incident,” Tusk wrote.According to the latest police information, two individuals have been detained in connection with the case: a 21-year-old Ukrainian and a 17-year-old Belarusian. The arrests took place on Monday around 7:00 p.m., TVP Info reports. “The drone was flying in unauthorized areas, and it was shot down. The people who operated the drone were also detained. (…) They were questioned overnight. We’ll see what the outcome of these procedures will be,” said Deputy Interior Minister Maciej Duszczyk.He stressed that the country’s most important officials live and stay in Belweder and its immediate surroundings, so the area must be under special surveillance.In his view, no hypothesis can be ruled out: it could have been an accident, the detainees might have just wanted to fly a drone, or they might have been recording the response of SOP officers. He added that the security services and the prosecutor’s office will clarify this.Russian Shaheds in Polish airspace.
