Yuriy Fedorenko, commander of the 429th Separate Unmanned Systems Achilles Regiment, stated this on Espreso TV."During active combat operations, it was not possible to excavate this pipe using military engineering equipment because these areas were under constant fire from the enemy. Therefore, the Defense Forces shut off the valves and made it impossible for the enemy to advance. The pipe was also significantly damaged with engineering munitions. As a result, the enemy was previously unable to use it to deliver manpower," Fedorenko explained.According to the commander of the Achilles regiment, during the course of the fighting, the Russian army managed to carry out underground work and create a path for themselves to move through this specific pipe."After discovering these facts, the Defense Forces carried out a series of fire strikes, which made it possible to damage this pipe in the area of the Oskil River and, as a result, flood it. At this moment, no enemy movement through the pipe is being recorded. The enemy has again started to cross via the Oskil River crossings. This does not mean that Russia will not be able to restore this pipe over time, but it is being closely monitored. And if the enemy manages to carry out work to pump out, weld, or straighten this pipe, if it is not critically damaged, there is already a full understanding of the algorithm for striking it," Fedorenko added. The head of the Kupiansk City Military Administration, Andriy Besedin, and the General Staff have refuted reports from the OSINT project DeepState about the alleged infiltration of Russian troops into the city through a gas pipe. According to their data, Kupiansk remains under the control of Ukrainian forces, although fighting continues on its outskirts and the situation remains difficult.
