Mykola Buchyn, doctor of political sciences and professor at Lviv Polytechnic, said this on Espreso TV."We are currently observing an attempt to restore bipolarity in the world with an active role for China. I believe that Russia's attack on Ukraine was an attempt to challenge America, revive the USSR in a 'Union 2.0' format, and, accordingly, establish itself as one of the key centers of influence on the Eurasian continent. However, fortunately, Russia did not succeed. China took advantage of this, gradually but surely subordinating Russia, effectively making it its junior satellite," noted Buchyn.According to the political scientist, having taken advantage of the situation, strengthened its political and economic positions, and trading with Russia for next to nothing, China, seeing the weakening of Europe, decided: "Why not try to become the dominant center instead of Russia?""Thus, we are now observing a decline in American influence and attempts to revise the global distribution of power, where China is becoming at least one of the centers of influence, and possibly, in the future, a dominant player in the confrontation with the West," Buchyn added.Russian dictator Vladimir Putin may move to a new stage of the war against Ukraine after returning from Beijing.
