Ukrainian lawmaker Mykola Kniazhytskyi stated this on Espreso TV.“Obviously, the Russians are testing NATO countries, first of all. They are testing Trump, because this is a humiliation for him. As soon as he met with Poland’s President Nawrocki, and the Polish President talked about how strong the U.S.-Polish friendship is, the Russians attacked Poland with almost 20 drones. And what can America do? Trump now wrote on social media: ‘We’re starting.’ We’ll see what he starts,” he said. The MP compared this to sanctions against Russia, which are constantly promised but never actually introduced.“They have many goals, because they want to sow distrust if NATO does not respond appropriately, they want to show NATO’s weakness, and they want to instill fear in Polish society and in the societies of other countries. They want to test how far they can go in attacking Europe and European countries, sow disappointment in Ukraine and among Ukrainians, suggesting that they should defend themselves alone – why should we need these Ukrainians – or that Ukraine should accept capitulation, because otherwise things will get even worse for everyone, and to pressure Ukraine into surrender,” Kniazhytskyi said.He emphasized that Russia has many objectives.“There are many goals behind this provocation. It is worth noting that it happened after Putin’s trip to China, where he apparently received assurances of support from Xi Jinping and thus became more confident, so to speak. Especially against the backdrop of the United States’ indecisiveness in imposing sanctions and other measures against the Russian Federation,” the MP concluded.Russian Shaheds in Polish airspace: What we knowThe Operational Command of the Polish Armed Forces placed air defense and aviation units on high alert following Russia’s night attack on Ukraine on September 10, during which Russian drones entered Polish airspace.
