Pavlo Lakiichuk, head of security programs at the Center for Global Studies Strategy XXI, discussed this on Espreso TV.“The Topaz plant is a major radio-electronics and mechanical enterprise. Our famous Kolchuga systems were also produced here. After 2014, the Russians, of course, stole and took most of the specialized equipment to Russia. But the invading forces still use this plant as a mechanical facility,” Lakiichuk noted.According to the head of security programs at the Center for Global Studies Strategy XXI, almost every mechanical plant in the occupied territories now serves as a repair base for the invaders to restore combat equipment, especially in areas close to the front line. Therefore, the strike on Topaz was entirely logical.“The fact that strikes are being carried out on enemy targets in the occupied territories is understandable and a positive development, as the Russians are intensifying their offensive in the east, relying on the forces concentrated in the Donetsk region, in areas captured by Russia. This is no longer even a preemptive strike, but a strike aimed at weakening the enemy’s offensive potential across the entire front,” Lakiichuk added. On September 8, 195 clashes occurred on the Russian-Ukrainian front, with 64 Russian attempts to advance in the Pokrovsk direction.
