She shared her observations on Facebook.Maternova visited the building Monday morning with other heads of diplomatic missions. Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko, along with the ministers of Foreign Affairs and Interior, accompanied the delegation.“I saw it with my own eyes: Putin knows exactly what he is doing. The Iskander ballistic missile that struck the Cabinet of Ministers was aimed right there - at the heart of Ukraine’s government,” Maternova wrote. The ambassador noted that diplomats were shown large fragments of the missile and numerous pieces of shrapnel from its built-in cluster munitions. “Only thanks to the missile failing to fully detonate, the entire building was not reduced to rubble,” she added. “And thanks to the rapid action of Ukraine’s amazing rescue services - true heroes - the fire was contained to the three floors, before it would swallow the rest of the building.”Maternova stressed that the attack highlights the urgency for allies to strengthen support for Ukraine, increase pressure on Russia, and provide the country with the tools it needs to protect its skies. On the night of September 6, Russian forces launched a massive wave of drones and ballistic missiles at Ukrainian territory. Overnight, Kyiv came under attack, leaving casualties and injuries, with debris striking the Cabinet of Ministers building. Kryvyi Rih was also hit by ballistic missiles, resulting in deaths. Drone strikes damaged infrastructure in Dnipropetrovsk and Poltava regions.
