Dmytro Zhmailo, co-founder and executive director of the Ukrainian Center for Security and Cooperation, shared the information on Espreso TV.“Russian forces are currently actively redeploying their combat units, including the infamous 155th Brigade, which advanced in the Sumy region and formed the backbone of the assault on our Kursk bridgehead. The 40th Marine Brigade is also being moved to exert pressure along the Dobropillia–Druzhkivka axis, along with the 11th Brigade and the 76th Russian Airborne Division, toward the Dobropillia direction. We know that the occupiers, fortunately, have ended up in a rather difficult position there. The 70th Motorized Rifle Division is being transferred from the Kherson direction to further pressure Kostiantynivka and Siversk,” a military expert commented.According to him, Russian troops are concentrating their units, with Donetsk region remaining a priority. This also applies to the Lyman direction, to enable pressure on Donetsk region from the north.“At the same time, the Ukrainian Defense Forces carried out successful attacks a few weeks ago that significantly changed Russia’s plans. Russian invaders had planned to encircle the Pokrovsk–Myrnohrad agglomeration, or at least start fighting for Kostiantynivka or urban battles for Kupiansk. However, the main Russian target is not Kupiansk itself, but Kupiansk-Vuzlovyi, located further south, which served as their base at the start of the full-scale invasion, as this railway hub connects to Russia. While there is indeed a buildup of their forces, Russia’s mobilization and recruitment trends are unstable, with setbacks. Therefore, it cannot be said that the Russians will definitely achieve their objectives this autumn. The Ukrainian army has the strength to withstand another Russian offensive,” Zhmailo concluded. On September 3, 180 combat engagements were recorded along the Russian–Ukrainian frontline. In the Pokrovsk sector, the Ukrainian Defense Forces repelled 55 Russian attacks.
