The head of the Presidential Office, Andriy Yermak, announced this.“For years, they lived under pressure and fear. The occupiers forced them to attend Russian schools, threatened them, and humiliated their parents. Among the rescued is a mother with two sons who had been deported to Russia and stripped of their Ukrainian documents. The family was left without basic living conditions — money, clothing, or food. They twice tried to return home on their own, and only on the third attempt, with the help of the initiative’s partners, were they able to escape,” the statement said.Yermak also noted that a child with a disability was among those returned. The child had lived for years in the occupied territories without proper treatment or essential medication.“I thank the team of the Office of the Ombudsman of Ukraine and all international partners for their help in rescuing our children. We will continue to do everything possible to bring every Ukrainian child back home,” Yermak added. On August 28, two groups of children and young people were returned from the temporarily occupied territories to Ukraine-controlled territory.
