Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi called on Putin to end the war in Ukraine as soon as possible, The Times of India reports. During their meeting, Modi said:"We have been continuously discussing the ongoing conflict in Ukraine. We welcome all the recent efforts for peace. We hope that all parties will move forward constructively. A way has to be found to end the conflict as soon as possible and establish lasting peace. This is the call of the entire humanity."Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan invited Putin to visit Ankara during their talks, RBC-Ukraine reports, citing Turkish and Russian media.“This remains in force. We hope to see you in our country soon,” Erdogan said.The Kremlin reported that Putin “expressed confidence that Turkey's special role in resolving the war in Ukraine will continue to be in demand.”On Sunday, August 31, Russian leafer Vladimir Putin began a four-day visit to China to attend the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit, which is taking place in Tianjin from August 31 to September 1.Russian leader Vladimir Putin said in China that he hopes the “understanding” reached at the summit with U.S. President Donald Trump in Alaska will “pave the way for peace in Ukraine.”
