The Center for Countering Disinformation (ССD) reported this information.“Kremlin-controlled propaganda outlets are spreading statements that so-called Russian hackers allegedly hacked into the Ukrainian General Staff’s database and obtained information about ‘1.7 million dead and missing Ukrainian soldiers’ since the start of Russia’s full-scale invasion,” the CCD said in a statement. The Center stressed that this is complete nonsense, as Ukraine’s army has never been that large — as of early 2025, it numbered 880,000 troops. In reality, Russian losses are three times higher than Ukraine’s, with over one million killed and wounded since the beginning of the full-scale invasion.“The goal of this fake is to demoralize Ukrainians, convince the world of the ‘exhaustion and ineffectiveness of the Armed Forces of Ukraine,’ and undermine its international support,” the CCD explained.U.S. presidential envoy Keith Kellogg stated that military casualties in the Russia's war on Ukraine have reached 1.2 million.
