On the morning of Wednesday, August 20, a meeting of the North Atlantic Council at the level of ambassadors from NATO’s 32 member states took place at NATO headquarters. The agenda included discussions on the results of negotiations in Washington and preparations for security guarantees for Ukraine, ahead of a meeting of NATO’s military leadership scheduled for later in the day.This was reported to a European Pravda correspondent by one of the Alliance officials on condition of anonymity.NATO ambassadors exchanged views on security guarantees for Ukraine as part of preparations for the meeting of NATO’s military leadership.“In the morning, a meeting of the North Atlantic Council at the level of permanent representatives was held at NATO headquarters, where they discussed the results of meetings in Washington and the processes of peaceful settlement in Ukraine,” the European Pravda source said.Another NATO official added that the meeting of the North Atlantic Council was personally chaired by NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte.He clarified that the meeting was held in preparation for a roundtable with the military leadership of NATO member states (chiefs of general staff), which will take place later the same day.The leaders of the Coalition of the Willing at a meeting on Tuesday, August 19, agreed to hold negotiations with the United States in the near future regarding “reliable security guarantees” for Ukraine.
