He said this in an interview with CBS News, emphasizing the Alliance's commitment to "making sure that Ukraine has what it needs to stay in the fight and be in the best possible position."NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte said coordinated weapons supplies from NATO members to Kyiv will continue regardless of the outcome of the upcoming Putin–Trump summit in Alaska.“Ukraine will have to be — and will be — involved” in any discussions on territories, security guarantees, and peace talks, he stressed.Rutte added that Russia’s occupation of Ukrainian territories can never be legally recognized. However, he noted that negotiations may address “how to deal with the factual situation that the Russians are holding, at this moment, Ukrainian territory.”He said the meeting between U.S. President Donald Trump and Russian leader Vladimir Putin in Alaska would show whether the Kremlin is ready to end the war.Ukrainian Ambassador to the U.S. Oksana Markarova said she believes Trump will negotiate from a position of strength with Russia, pointing to his recent actions as evidence. The talks are scheduled for August 15 in Alaska.
