Axios reported the information, citing sources.The idea to hold the meeting in the United Kingdom arose during a phone conference between American, Ukrainian, and European officials on Friday, August 8.According to the publication’s sources, Ukraine and several NATO allies are concerned that Trump might agree to Putin’s proposals to end the war without considering their positions.On Wednesday, the American leader held a phone conversation with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and several European leaders to inform them about the results of his special envoy Steve Witkoff’s meeting with Putin.According to the publication, Witkoff told the participants that Putin is ready to end the war if Ukraine agrees to give up the Luhansk and Donetsk regions, as well as Crimea.According to sources, at least some participants in the call concluded that Putin also agreed to abandon claims to the partially occupied territories of the Kherson and Zaporizhzhia regions.
