This was confirmed by Ukraine’s Ambassador to Turkey, Nariman Dzhelyal, in a comment to RBC-Ukraine. He noted that Kyiv is actively working to organize Erdoğan’s visit, and that President Volodymyr Zelenskyy personally extended the invitation to the Turkish leader.“This visit requires significant effort, as there are many issues complicating its organization,” Dzhelyal said.According to him, the primary focus of Erdoğan’s diplomatic visit may be the ratification of the free trade agreement between Ukraine and Turkey."President Zelenskyy's invitation is very straightforward: Turkey is interested in signing a free trade agreement. This agreement is important for a significant part of our business, though for some it may cause tension due to increased competition. However, this is a political decision. President Zelenskyy proposed that the agreement be ratified during Erdoğan’s visit, which would be a meaningful and symbolic step," the Ukrainian ambassador noted.Earlier, Ukraine and the European Union concluded negotiations on new trade conditions following the expiration of the autonomous trade measures on June 5, 2025, which had provided preferential terms for Ukrainian exporters.
