Press officer Taras Myshak of the 59th Separate Drone Brigade shared this information on Espreso TV.“We are in the Pokrovsk sector, but our brigade is not directly near Pokrovsk itself; it is closer to the borders of Donetsk and Dnipropetrovsk regions. What we see in our brigade’s area of responsibility is that the situation has somewhat stabilized. It’s clear that the Russians have now concentrated their efforts more on assaulting Pokrovsk itself, bypassing Pokrovsk, and perhaps have shifted the goal of reaching the administrative border with the Dnipropetrovsk region. Because what we observe is a decrease in the number of assaults. They are not conducting them as actively, but they continue shelling and their drones keep operating — so in that sense, activity has not decreased,” he said.Taras Myshak noted that Russian troops have not abandoned attempts to capture Pokrovsk.“Of course, there is a threat [of capturing Pokrovsk]. The Russians have not given up on these efforts, these attempts; they are concentrating, and as you know, they have incorporated Donetsk region into their constitution and will try to fully take it here. But the Ukrainian Defense Forces are holding the line, repelling these attacks, and I believe it is still far from being captured,” added the press officer of the 59th Separate Drone Brigade. As of Friday, August 1, the Russian army had territorial gains in Donetsk region. The occupiers advanced in Chasiv Yar, Toretsk, Zelenyi Hai, and near Oleksiivka and Andriivka-Klevtseve.
