Bloomberg reports. The Achilles and Elyte vessels are currently anchored off Jamnagar, delayed from their scheduled arrival in Sikka on July 30-31.They picked up their cargo in late June in Primorsk and Ust-Luz, where Russia's flagship Urals usually loads. Both tankers are under EU and UK sanctions. The Achilles and Elyte tankers, Aframax-type vessels, each have a capacity of about 700,000 barrels of oil. Sikka is served by Reliance Industries Ltd. and Bharat Petroleum Corp. Ltd.Two other tankers, the Destan and the Horae, are also anchored off the coast with Russian oil. The Destan, which is under EU and UK sanctions, is anchored with an estimated arrival date in Sikka on July 24-25. The Horae, which is headed to Vadinar with an expected arrival date of August 1, is not subject to EU, UK or U.S. sanctions. The destinations of the Aframax tankers may change, Bloomberg notes. On July 30, U.S. President Donald Trump announced the introduction of 25% tariffs against India with a penalty from August 1, because it buys oil and weapons from Russia, when "everyone wants Russia to stop killing in Ukraine".Later, Reuters reported that Indian state-owned oil refining companies stopped buying Russian oil due to reduced discounts and warnings from U.S. President Donald Trump.
