77th Separate Airmobile Brigade soldier Viktor Petrovych shared the information on Espreso TV."The brigade is carrying out tasks in the southern Kupiansk sector, closer to Borova. Currently, the situation in our area of responsibility is tense. Whereas before the Russians used large amounts of equipment and infantry during so-called ‘meat grinder’ assaults, now they use creeping assaults: small or very small groups, and sometimes even lone fighters, trying to advance closer to our positions. This is quite a difficult challenge for us because there are many green areas around where they can hide, and numerous burrows have been dug along the front line. Russian troops try to sneak unnoticed through blind spots of our reconnaissance drones and concentrate in dugouts near our positions to launch a surprise attack," noted Viktor Petrovych.According to him, the situation remains difficult because Russian forces have significant infantry resources and spare no personnel, using them without any restrictions.“The challenge in our sector is also that we are located near the Oskil River. Because of this, any Russian advance could seriously complicate logistics: crossings would come under fire, making it much harder to hold this position on the river’s left bank. If Russian troops advance significantly, a decision to withdraw beyond the Oskil may be necessary. That is why we are firmly holding these lines now and not allowing the enemy to advance,” the soldier emphasized. On July 31, 160 combat engagements took place on the Russian-Ukrainian frontline. The Russians attempted to push back Ukrainian positions 47 times in the Pokrovsk sector.
