These are reinforced hangars with dome-shaped roofs, blast-resistant doors, and are covered with a layer of earth for added protection against strikes.Specifically, the Millerovo airbase in the Rostov region is located just 17 km from the Ukrainian border and was targeted on 22 July 2025. In addition to the construction of fortified hangars, eight new drive-through shelters for aircraft are also actively being built there, which are likely to become operational soon.According to intelligence, the construction of these hardened structures is intended to provide an increased level of protection for aircraft deployed at Russian airbases against future strikes by Ukrainian one-way attack drones.
