Mykhailo Fedorov, head of Ukraine’s Ministry of Digital Transformation, reported the information.“Three months ago, we were testing fiber-optic drones with a range of up to 20 km. Today, these systems can hit enemy targets at distances of more than 40 km. This is the result of systematic work: feedback from the military, unique technological solutions from developers, and coordination and support from Brave1,” he wrote.Fiber-optic FPV drones are effective in conditions where traditional systems lose connection. Because the signal is transmitted through a cable, they are immune to jamming or interception in electronic warfare conditions. This ensures stable control, high-quality video, and precise strikes on targets.“Strikes at a depth of 40+ km are becoming the new norm for fiber-optic drones. We are advancing a technology that accurately and effectively destroys the enemy,” Fedorov summarized. In January, the Ministry of Defense’s Main Directorate of Defense Innovations conducted a demonstration test of FPV drones controlled via fiber-optic cable for representatives of different branches of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
