This opinion was voiced on Espreso TV by international affairs expert and head of the NGO Ukraine in NATO, Yuriy Romaniuk."It’s not out of the question that Putin might dare to declare full mobilization in Russia. This would be the most dangerous scenario, not just for Ukraine but for all of Europe and the democratic world. In such a case, Russia would count on Ukraine being unable to hold the front in certain areas, allowing Russian troops to advance. This would force the West to respond. But the West is not eager to send its own citizens to defend Ukraine. No one wants to make that sacrifice. The 'well-fed billion' living in the U.S. and Europe prefers to help only with money and weapons," Romaniuk explained. The expert emphasized that the collective West must begin drafting a response plan in case Russia announces full mobilization."The West is not ready — morally or militarily — to send troops into Ukraine. That’s why Russian mobilization could become one of the most dangerous scenarios for Ukraine. I believe Western nations should already be developing a strategy to respond to such a development," he added.Meanwhile, NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte stressed the need to strengthen the North Atlantic Alliance and deepen cooperation with the Indo-Pacific region in the face of the Russian threat.
