This was stated on Espreso TV by Iryna Friz, a member of the Ukrainian Parliament and of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on National Security, Defense, and Intelligence.“The enemy is already trying to gain a foothold in the Dnipropetrovsk region, which presents a serious challenge to our defense capabilities. We see the consequences following the failure of the so-called successful Kursk operation, which led to the invasion of our territory in the Sumy region. The enemy is also attempting to create gray zones in the Sumy and Kharkiv regions, which does not bode well when analyzing the situation along the line of combat contact in this direction,” Friz emphasized.According to her, many issues remain, including insufficient material and technical support for the Defense Forces and a lack of adequate fortifications that troops could use if the frontline shifts — especially considering the terrain’s characteristics.“Therefore, unfortunately, we cannot speak of a stable situation. Even the 50-day window President Trump reportedly gave the aggressor country to move toward negotiations must be endured. To me, this presents a greater challenge today than recent political changes in parliament or the formal reshuffling within the security sector,” Friz concluded.
