The Guardian reports.Sybiha renewed his calls for Europe to confront the threat posed by Russia and urged the European Union to move forward with additional sanctions against Moscow. He emphasized once again that Kyiv remains open to peace negotiations at any time.Speaking in the Polish city of Lublin alongside the foreign ministers of Poland and Lithuania, Sybiha addressed the latest overnight attacks on Ukraine, stating: “Having no success on the battlefield, the Kremlin is directing air terror against our peaceful cities and communities, against civilians.” He also mentioned the earlier attack on a Polish-owned factory in Ukraine.Sybiha, currently serving as acting minister amid an ongoing government reshuffle in Kyiv, added: “Moscow seeks to break our spirit, … but it will not succeed, especially for as long as we are together.”He renewed pressure on the EU to pass its long-delayed 18th sanctions package against Russia, which remains blocked by Slovakia, and pushed for additional measures that would increase diplomatic pressure on Moscow to enter ceasefire talks.Addressing Russian claims that Ukraine has stalled negotiations, Ukraine's top diplomat denounced them as “lie, manipulation and distortion of facts,” and emphasized that “Ukraine has never been, is not and will not be an obstacle to peace,” noting Kyiv’s acceptance of U.S.-backed proposals for a ceasefire.He reiterated that Ukraine is “ready for such negotiations in any format, in any geography.”His remarks drew support from both Polish and Lithuanian counterparts. Lithuania’s Kęstutis Budrys said these Russian claims amounted to “false narratives and false propaganda coming from Russia.”“It’s up to Putin to take these conditions, what President Trump is telling him to do already [for] four months and we’re still waiting,” he added.Russia can be forced into a just peace only if the sanctions pressure is significantly increased and Ukraine's defense capabilities are strengthened.
