Zelenskyy wrote about it on Telegram.“Our absolute priority right now is air defense and drone production, especially interceptors. We would welcome Italian investment in everything that protects lives in Ukraine today and could protect Italy in the future. We’re also continuing work on sanctions and our EU integration — acceleration is needed,” Zelenskyy wrote. In his meeting with Meloni, the two leaders discussed reconstruction, including Italy’s readiness to take patronage over rebuilding the city of Odesa. At the meeting with Merz, Zelenskyy informed him about Russia's latest attacks and spoke about interceptor drones."We also discussed the battlefield, work with partners, and our European integration. Germany is exactly the country that has the influence and authority to help unblock our path to the EU. Therefore, we appreciate your loud and decisive position," he said.
Meanwhile, in talks with Schoof, Zelenskyy focused on joint defense production, boosting air defense, and continued diplomatic efforts.“We are directing investments where they are needed now: air defense and interceptor drones. Justice is equally important. Yesterday there was an important court decision in the Netherlands in the case of Russia’s downing of MH17. It's crucial that justice is served. We fully support the Dutch legal efforts,” he added.
Zelenskyy also stressed that Ukraine possesses some of the world’s most advanced drone technologies for both offense and defense — but needs more investment to scale production.
