This was stated by Russian opposition politician Mark Feygin in an interview with Espreso TV."Putin believes that he can reach an agreement with Trump, continuing to promise him things. And so far, Trump has not let Putin down on the Ukrainian issue, let’s be honest. For instance, with Iran, even though the war was initiated by Israel, Trump took action—because it’s clear that he personally ordered the bombings. It's not Russia, which has three thousand nuclear warheads on combat duty. Iran might have half a ton of enriched uranium, but they don't have bombs, because if they did, they would use them," Feygin explained.According to Feygin, despite this difference with Russia, Trump could take actions that wouldn’t force the U.S. to directly enter the war."But he doesn’t do that, we don’t see it, let’s be honest. So, in reality, Putin isn’t afraid of the kind of reaction, like in the case of the Iranian war, because he believes that Trump won’t go that far with him. And we tend to stick to that position," the politician said.He added that Trump could act more decisively here as well, for example, by establishing a no-fly zone over Ukraine – which would be even more significant than bombing the Fordow facility."If suddenly, ballistic missiles don’t fly into Ukraine and F-35s defend Ukraine’s sky, American and European, NATO ships will do it and use air defense systems. That would be a very radical step. But Putin doesn’t believe in that – that’s the thing. He thinks that, by inertia, ammunition will still be supplied, but Trump won’t dare to do anything more substantial. That’s his belief," Feygin concluded.
