Russia abducts over 15,000 Ukrainian civilians since start of full-scale war

The Prosecutor General's Office stated this in response to a request from LIGA.net.The request was made amid the exposure of 20 residents of the temporarily occupied Kherson region, who, on orders from the Russians, abducted and tortured local residents.According to updated data from the Prosecutor General’s Office, since February 24, 2022, law enforcement officers have registered 4,446 criminal proceedings regarding the abduction and illegal imprisonment of civilians.As a result of investigations, 362 individuals have been notified of suspicion, indictments against 314 have been sent to court, and courts have delivered verdicts against 89 individuals.In total, during the period of the full-scale war, 907 individuals have been notified of suspicion, 28 of them in person. 663 cases have been sent to court, 180 people have been convicted, 18 of them in person in Ukraine, and the rest in absentia.According to Ombudsman Dmytro Lubinets, Russia has executed at least 268 Ukrainian prisoners of war.
