The official suspension of critical weapon supplies to Ukraine is explained as a "check of Pentagon ammunition stocks."However, for us, it is obvious – this is merely a formal excuse. In reality, we are witnessing how internal political struggles in the U.S. and competition between different groups in the U.S. President's administration and factions in Congress are directly undermining our defense capabilities. The role of Elbridge Colby, who initiated the suspension, is indicative. He belongs to the so-called "realist" camp, which consistently advocates for limiting U.S. involvement in foreign conflicts. This position directly plays into the hands of the Kremlin, creating a window of opportunity for the renewal of Russian strikes on Ukrainian infrastructure at a time when Western assistance is stalling. The suspension of Patriot missiles, Hellfire for F-16s, and precision-guided munitions is not just a logistical issue. It is a form of war of attrition, where the tacit consent to weaken Ukraine appears as a political concession to the Kremlin. The irony is that these decisions were made immediately after the largest air attack on Ukraine since the start of the war, involving over 470 drones and 60 missiles. Nearly half of them were neutralized. But without a stable supply of air defense systems, this success cannot continue. This is not just a military issue. It is a test of strategic trust. And every such stock check strikes not only at us but also at the trust in the United States as an ally.SourceAbout the author: Oleksandr Antonuk, political expertNote: The editorial staff does not always share the opinions expressed by the blog authors.
