According to Ukrainian Pravda, citing a source in law enforcement, the Russians most likely used a 152mm guided rocket projectile fired from a self-propelled artillery system 2A36 ("Hyacinth-B," towed howitzer) or 2S5 ("Hyacinth-S," self-propelled howitzer) to shell Pishchane. The maximum range of such a projectile is 33-40 kilometers. Measuring this distance from the impact point suggests that the enemy’s self-propelled artillery fired from northern Russia, specifically from the area near the village of Kulbaky, or from the east — near the villages of Huyevo and Hornal. Kulbaky lies north of Russian-occupied villages in the Sumy region, while Huyevo and Hornal are located near the relatively calm Myropillia direction.Ukrainian Pravda emphasizes that despite the reinforcement of Defense Forces units in the Sumy region and offensive actions by the Ukrainian army toward Kindrativka, Andriivka, and Yunakivka, the Russian army continues attempts to reach Sumy with artillery fire.A week earlier, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that over seven days, Russian forces had advanced 200 meters toward Sumy, while Ukrainian forces had pushed them back by 200–400 meters.
