Telex reported the information.Prime Minister Viktor Orbán’s office announced that 2,278,000 Hungarians took part in the consultations on Ukraine’s EU membership. According to the government, 95% were against Ukraine joining the European Union, while 5% supported it.The declared turnout represents about 29% of Hungary’s total electorate, based on the 7.8 million registered voters from last year’s European Parliament elections.Telex has raised doubts about the credibility of the vote, pointing out that a test showed it was possible for one person to vote twice by using different email addresses.Government spokesperson Gergely Gulyás claimed that printed ballots were notarized and “impossible to falsify,” and said electronic votes were being verified. However, he couldn’t confirm whether the system could detect if someone voted both on paper and online. He added that online votes made up only about 10% of the total.Previously, opposition politician and head of the Tisza party, Péter Magyar, declared the failure of Orbán's "referendum" on Ukraine. He claimed that in reality, only about 600,000 people participated in the vote.Ukraine's Foreign Ministry believes that the Hungarian government has made “every effort to ensure the result it wants” in the VOKS2025 consultations on Ukraine's accession to the EU.
