According to Flightradar24, the Russian government plane first took off from Moscow, landed at Pulkovo Airport in Saint Petersburg, and then departed around 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, June 25, Kyiv time. The Il-96 arrived at John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York at 3:27 p.m. local time (10:27 p.m. Kyiv time). Later, at 6:30 p.m. (1:30 a.m. Kyiv time), it departed from New York to Washington, arriving at 8:56 p.m. local time (3:56 a.m. Kyiv time on June 26).
It is unknown who was on board the specialized aircraft. There have been no official announcements about a visit to the U.S. by Russian representatives.As Focus notes, the Il-96 with registration number RSD878 belongs to the fleet of the special flight detachment Rossiya, which is subordinated to the Administrative Directorate of the President of the Russian Federation. These aircraft are used for flights by Russian leader Putin and high-ranking officials.
